Our Story — How We Became Wine Tour Professionals

Chris Kinsey, a real estate agent with an entrepreneurial spirit, established Custom Wine Concierge in 2009. As someone who also had years of experience in the hospitality sector, he held an appreciation for superior customer service and understood how that superior service could completely transform a traveler’s experience. This passion for above-and-beyond service coupled with his passion for exquisite wine led him to gather a select group of like-minded professionals who were outstanding in their respective fields. In addition to Chris, the Custom Wine Concierge "team" consists of a bank IT eCommerce V.P., a university Professor Emeritus, and an insurance professional/writer. Utilizing this wealth of knowledge, education, and experience, Custom Wine Concierge brings a different category of exemplary service to the wine regions of Northern California.

By incorporating our clients' requests and preferences, (for example, desired dining, wine varieties, travel accommodations, etc.) into everything we do, Custom Wine Concierge is uniquely able to anticipate the needs of our new clients. In addition, we create a fluid and seamless experience for our esteemed repeat clientele as they explore new and exciting wine country adventures in Napa Valley and beyond.

Our value is in our wine country guidance, which focuses your search for the venues, varietals and ambiance you desire. We have renovated and rethought the standard wine tour to allow you to experience the wine country your way. Our version of the wine tour is an exclusive excursion that caters to customers as though they were members of a privileged travel club. We listen to the needs of our clients and then tailor services to meet those needs.

CWC began in 2009, when I recognized a need in the marketplace for a premium wine-tour service. I set out to create a positive environment where both clients and employees could re-create experiences from a bygone era, when gracious living and travel was an art form. The Wine Country as well as Northern California and Nevada provide an elegant, diversified and cordial backdrop to create unlimited unique four & five star experiences.
